I figured it out!

Thanks to social media, I was able to figure out what was causing my Fury not to start. I tried so many things and eventually found out the it was the main positive power cable from the batter to the starter.

I used my dremel and a wire brush end to clean up the terminal adapter. Now it turns over with no problem! I'm ordering new spark plugs and wires and then we should be able to get it started up! I need to start working on the window so it's ready to go.

It's time

It's finally time to get the Fury out.

My 1974 Plymouth Fury III that has been in the garage for a few years and in "storage" before that. I've been buying and selling old technology on ebay and got the project so big, I had to get a storage unit. It works but I'd rather use my garage as a shop. I want a testing, shipping and storage area. In order to use the garage, I need to get my Fury out. I assumed it just needed a battery and a window and I'd be ready to go... Nope! I attempted to start the motor and it just turned over and over, eventually flooding the engine.

After cleaning up some gas around the carb and letting it air out, I was going to try again but it wouldn't crank over, it just clicked. I remembered having issues with the starter in the past and needing to hit it with a hammer to get it going. So, of course, I ordered a starter.

After ordering the starter, I went to take out the old one and realized I was missing some tool. I ordered a socket set and started taking out the old starter.

I had to do a few modifications to the wiring because on the new starter, the wiring posts are on the top, rather than the bottom.

After putting in the new starter, I tried turning it over, but still just a click...

Next I checked the starter relay. I jumped the two large posts and still only got a click at the starter. My next guess is that the engine is seized. I was able to barely turn the engine using the 1 1/4" nut at the front of the engine. I used a socket and breaker bar and can get it to move a little. I use some Marvel Mystery Oil and injected it into the spark plug locations. Now we wait! It needs time to soak the pistons and hopefully it will turn over soon!
